Kristin Yancy is an artist with a big laugh and some big ideas.
Kristin Yancy is a New York based dancer, actor, singer, and choreographer. She is a graduate from Washington University in St. Louis (Senior Honors, B.A. Comparative Arts) and has trained at Joffrey Ballet School (NY), San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Movement Invention Project (NY), and Northwest Dance Project (OR). During her training she was honored to work with notables such as Michael Blake, Sidra Bell, Summer Rhatigan, Alex Ketley, Danielle Agami, Juan Carlos Peñuela, Theresa Howard, Ephrat Asherie, Shannon Gillen, Shamel Pitts, and Alexandra Wells. Kristin was a principal dancer in The Slaughter Project for three years, under the direction of Cecil Slaughter. She has performed with OUI DANSE under the direction of Brice Mousset, and with Khalea London and her company, Layers.
Kristin began her musical theater career as a member of the National Touring Cast of West Side Story (Alicia, U/S Anita). She was a cast member of Randy Weiner's Drama Desk Award winning immersive hit, Queen of the Night. Other theater credits include Parker Esse's West Side Story (Merry Go Round Playhouse), Amy Jones' Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Flat Rock Playhouse), Lincoln Center's Hall of Fame Gala directed and choreographed by Christopher D'Amboise, and Josh Rhodes' epic and critically acclaimed production of Evita (Asolo Repertory Theater). She is currently performing at The Guthrie Theater under the direction of Joseph Haj.
Kristin has appeared in commercials for VH1+, Organic Valley, Chase Bank, One World Trade Center, Ford Motor Company, and Target, as well as in Abzyme Research Foundation's #ENDHIV campaign, which was narrated by Julianne Moore and choreographed by the extraordinary Ryan Heffington. She has appeared in multiple New York Fashion Week presentations.
Kristin is the creator and producer of The Hunt, an immersive experience based on the Salem Witch Trials, and was choreographer and co-producer of immersive magic show The Conjuror's Club, which debuted with a secret opening in the fall of 2017. She can be found in Brooklyn, where she builds worlds with her production company MinuteZero, dances with The People Movers, makes strange magic with LubDub Theater Company, and develops her own choreographic work.
